Now that you understand the four key stages of growing your business, let’s take a closer look at how we can begin to grow. But first, we need to determine where you are exactly with your business. Not every business owner is at the same place in their journey. Some might not even have a business yet, whereas others may already have an established business.
No matter where you’re at, we can plug you right into what I like to refer to as our content growth framework. Let’s determine where your current position is first. As I mentioned, there are two scenarios, the starter or the established business. They are defined as follows:
Starter or Established
Are you a starter or established business?
A starter business is one that has not created their business yet or a person who has less than $30k in monthly recurring revenue (MRR). We have to start somewhere and monthly recurring revenue is usually a good place to look. I can generally tell by this number where one stands.
If you are at the starter position, that’s OK. It just tells me where to plug you into our framework. The place you want to start is Position One: Foundations. I will explain why below. This is not a bad place to be, it’s just that I know where you stand and what you most likely will need to focus on first.
The second type of business we look at is an established business. This person has a business that is doing a monthly recurring revenue level of over $30,000. Usually, if someone is doing this volume of revenue they have ironed out the basics. Your starting point is Position Two: Scaling.
Now that you know what position you need to focus on, you can jump to that section in the content growth framework below.
Content Growth Framework
There are two positions in the framework, Position One: Foundations and Position Two: Scaling. Typically, if you’re in the Foundations area, you probably need to focus on organic content and messaging first. It’s imperative that you get this under control. If you don’t have it dialed in, you will only be blowing money in the scaling section. So be honest with yourself, if you have things to fix in this area let’s do so first.
If you’re confident that you have your Foundations under control, you can move on to the Scaling area. In this position we will start to learn how you can leverage paid advertising to scale your MRR.
Position One: Foundations
Most businesses that fall into this position typically need to get their organic activity under control first. They usually have zero to some activity in this area. Foundations are important because it provides proof that your business concept is working and you are providing a solution to a problem that the marketplace sees as being valuable.
Additionally, within the Foundations position there is messaging. If you don’t have your message straight you’re not in a good place, so let’s get that perfected as quickly as possible so we can move on to Scaling.
Now that you know exactly what Position One is, you will need to learn more by going to WelshTraining.com and get more details on our digital marketing blueprint. It’s an outstanding resource to prepare for Scaling.
Position Two: Scaling
This is where the real fun starts. In the Position Two: Scaling area, we can begin to develop significant growth for your business. This is achieved through the use of paid advertising and a few other strategies. There are many ways to approach paid ads, but I will focus on what I personally have had success with at my agency. Since 2013, my company has helped to scale businesses around the world using paid targeted ads and other strategies.
In Position Two, you can take a company from making $30k/month to one that is doing double the rate in as little as 60-90 days! “How is this possible?”, you may ask. Because you literally are amplifying what already works by sending your message to a target audience, your perfect customer.
It’s quite simple. Perfect your foundations and message, then send more messaging to the right people. That’s how we have helped many companies double their sales in 60 days or less.
Sound attractive to you? I hope so 🙂
